Controversies in Gynecologic Oncology include: Robotic surgery limitations of cervix cancer surgery, controversial sentinel node techniques for endometrial and uterine cancer, the evolving issues of Parp inhibitors for treatment and maintenance of ovary cancer, and Germ-line mutation screening. We must apply the most recent data and expert opinion to offer patients the best treatment options and also boost APP and nurse navigation support for these cancer patients.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the role of robotic surgery in cervix cancer patients and its limitations
  2. Discuss the sentinel nodes techniques, utilization, and limitations
  3. Identify patients at risk for Germ-line mutations based upon common history-taking daily practice  
  4. Recognize the mechanism of Parp inhibition and the utility and  in currently available parp inhibitor medications 
  5. Promote the role of nurse navigation and APP care to enhance the cancer patients medical experience

 

The conference will educate regarding multidisciplinary evaluation, AJCC staging, prognostic indicators, current prevention and treatments, and evidence-based guidelines.

The Village is conveniently situated two-thirds mile west of Interstate 43 in east central Wisconsin, and transportation from airports in nearby cities can easily be arranged.
