The Ethics of Organ Allocation
Join us for a panel discussion on ethical issues in organ transplantation. Transplant surgeons will discuss how the transplant allocation system affects heart transplant patients and abdominal transplant patients. An ethics committee member on the transplant team will discuss ethical issues in transplant allocation. A representative from an organ procurement organization will discuss ethical issues and best practices of their organization.

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Understand the selection process for organ donors and transplant recipients
- Interpret the ethical considerations that go into transplantation and allocation
- Discover the impact outcomes have on Transplant Centers, their ability to provide care to future candidates, and ethical considerations involved
