10th Annual Narrative Medicine Conference The Evolving Practice of Narrative Medicine: The Healing Power of Stories

This conference will demonstrate the power of narrative for those who give and receive medical care. The day will include inspirational talks by experts in the field, with interactive experiences to improve communication and reduce stress in healthcare settings. Using narrative for lifelong medical education will help health practitioners provide more compassionate and empathetic care to patients, help patients communicate better with practitioners, and reduce stress and burnout for all.

This conference is being held in-person and virtual.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy techs, social workers and other healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Plan to improve patient interviews.
  2. Recommend improvements in practitioners writing/documentation skills.
  3. Identify ways health care practitioners can promote communication.
  4. Utilize the role that arts and humanities activities can play in patient care activities.
  5. Incorporate creative or reflective writing in health care setting by building resilience, avoid burnout, and supporting families
