APH EBBHS: Violence Risk Assessment

Participants will be able to utilize best practices when working with vulnerable populations who meet criteria that describe them as high risk for violence. Participants will also be able to factor in a patient’s psychological resilience and social support that help to protect them against condition of violence.
 

Target Audience

The program is aimed at psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses and other allied health professionals who deal with mental health issues and addiction medicine.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify normed and validated measures for identifying patients that are high risk for violence
  2. Identify Predictive measures and behavioral assessment measures that are normed and validated on specific clinical populations
  3. Identify areas within your practice where you can apply evidence-based knowledge/techniques when caring for patients who fit criteria associated with high risk for violence
  4. Identify evidence-based resiliency measures to be used to help to off-set conditions associated with high risk for violence
