Pregnancy challenges a woman’s body—and heart—like no other life event. Nurturing a growing baby places new demands on your cardiovascular system including an increased heart rate, higher blood volume, and the strain of labor and delivery.   Whether you are caring for a patient with a pre-existing cardiovascular condition or patients at risk for developing cardiac issues during pregnancy, you may benefit from collaboration with our dedicated multidisciplinary team - cardiologists and vascular medicine specialists who have expertise in working with pregnant (or soon to be pregnant) women.   This course will provide overview of the comprehensive care and support offered through the cardio obstetric program at Sherman.

This conference is being held in-person and virtually.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.​

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  • Identify physiologic changes in pregnancy and how to best provide prevention, early detection, and appropriate management of CVD in pregnancy.
  • Apply the best management of CV diseases prior to conception, and during and after pregnancy.
  • Improve Health Care response to cardiovascular disease for women at risk.
