Perinatal Anxiety Disorders
Perinatal Anxiety Disorders are just as prevalent as other depressions, such as Perinatal Depression and Post Partum Depression. However, unlike the other depression disorders, Perinatal Anxiety Disorders do not get the attention as other disorders. In this session you will learn about Perinatal Anxiety Disorders symptoms and how to screen for it.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Define intrusive thoughts of an anxiety disorder.
- List validated tools for screening of perinatal depressive and anxiety symptoms.
- Describe the FDA Pregnancy and Lactation Labeling Rule.
- List the risks to the fetus/infant of antidepressants, benzodiazepines and hypnotics in pregnancy.
